Riverdale - Season 3 Episode 05: Chapter Forty: The Great Escape
A new set of frequent events in the third season seems more realistic and exciting, starting with another Jagged-led offensive against the recent Golis attack, and there are barriers to delaying the talk, which will make Betty and Jughead follow different lines. Archie will move into a new environment and may make a difficult decision after he is forced by unwanted attention.
On this week's episode, "The Great Escape," we're given even more insight into this season's big bad, which is, in true crazy Riverdale fashion, a mysterious role-playing game, Griffins & Gargoyles.
There is indeed a deep connection between Gryphons & Gargoyles and the town of Riverdale, with our characters acting as pawns in the Gargoyle King's game.
Disguises, explosives, and twists, Betty and Veronica's plan was a work of art. "Chapter Forty: The Great Escape" kept the momentum going with an excellently well-rounded and developed story.
People, we are only five episodes into this season of Riverdale, and I already feel like I'm about to have an aneurysm. There was So. Much. Happening. In this episode!
The pacing and tension of "The Great Escape" works very well, an immersive experience that mimics the way some characters have been pulled into the game.
