Riverdale - Season 3 Episode 06: Chapter Forty-One: Manhunter
A new set of frequent events in the third season seems more realistic and exciting, starting with another Jagged-led offensive against the recent Golis attack, and there are barriers to delaying the talk, which will make Betty and Jughead follow different lines. Archie will move into a new environment and may make a difficult decision after he is forced by unwanted attention.
I'm not entirely sure how this is going to be a season-long mystery - or even if it is - but so far, the pacing of the Gargoyle King mystery is really working for me.
Another week of Riverdale, another splintering storyline that plays out like True Detective went back to high school after dropping as much acid as possible.
Episode 6 weaved new layers into the tangled web that is the Gargoyle King mystery. This darkness hooked us right from the start to that jaw-dropping twist that came from nowhere.
That chill melts away once [Betty] realizes that every girl in the room is painting a different version of the Gargoyle King. It's a beautiful shot, and a masterful close to this week's arc.
It's a Riverdale episode that truly relies on the script (from Cristine Chambers) and the story, which is a lot of interesting concepts. But again, the holes.
Riverdale has a habit of promoting an upcoming storyline, only to flip it on its head, bringing greater depth and unpredictability to the episodes that are to come.
