Another season starts with substantially more fervor that follows the battles of Emma and Lyn, two youthful sisters from Mexican American roots, who have a totally various characters and need to come back to their hometown in the East side of Los Angeles, where they are stunned by knowing the dull truth of their mom. In this new season, Emma and Lyn have a successful career.
Vida's six-part farewell season also feels gangly, its ambitions outstripping its execution. I'm only being as hard on the show as I am because, for most of its run, it's been a triumph of personal vision and uncompromising complexity.
I'm sorry we won't get a fourth season to watch Emma and Lyn solidify Vida's vital place in the neighborhood; it feels like a miracle, though, that this little gem of a show even got the three seasons it did.
Vida reflects life in all of its messiness,..In the series we see both good and the bad, but more importantly, we see how we can grow, learn, and ultimately transform ourselves.
