The Walking Dead - Season 10 Episode 01: Lines We Cross
The tenth season begins with a series of events where both Alpha and Beta prepare to walk with the dead, and the threat of a whisperer's return greatly affects events. It seems that things will turn into the paranoia that is sweeping Alexandria. During a brief period, Carroll is fighting a war for revenge.
Within the first hour, big ideas and more feasible narrative threads are introduced. Being accompanied by well-done character stories... the stories introduced and revisited here show The Walking Dead is ready to knock it out of the park, once again.
It's clear the show isn't resting on its past glories; [Angela] Kang and company are willing to let the show grow, and morph and change. "Lines We Cross" is gross, scary, and big budget storytelling the way only Walking Dead can do.
There are some great beats involving Daryl, the always amazing Connie, and Dog. You love to see it. In fact, Connie is delightful every time she is on-screen and interacting with her fellow survivors.
"Lines We Cross" wants to get things moving as quickly as possible, and it accomplishes that, giving the season the forward momentum and exciting pace that has eluded it in past years. Overall, the episode is a great success.
