It is a series of dramatic events faced by three women from South Carolina who are best friends since high school. Sweet Magnolias is my idea of TV comfort food. Southern charm and wit while something I can watch with my older kids without having to repent the next day.
Sweet Magnolias isn't prestige TV and it ain't trying to be, either. But it's an excellent soap, one that is worth watching if you need some comfort right now.
I cannot in good faith describe this show as "good" (please see Klein's accent or most of the acting) but I also can't deny that it knows exactly what it's trying to be.
Despite its tendency to lecture about life and its puritanical look on the adult world, Sweet Magnolias has an undeniable charm and a bingeable quality. [Full Review in Spanish]
