The story of this dramatic series discovers the life of two gay friends Vince and Stewart. Vince and Stewart live their lives through sex, drugs and clubs. One day, Stuart came out as usual and brought in a 15-year-old named Nathan and then returned to his apartment where they were making love. As time passes, Nathan is still trying to chase Stuart, but Stewart thinks of Nathan as a casual person he accidentally met.
It was steamy to say the least, but the narrative was incredibly compelling and original. Following the lives of three gay men...Queer as Folk was revolutionary television--mainly because the characters felt like real people.
A brilliantly brief series that came in, rearranged the furniture, splashed the walls with colour and then f---ed off. Punk TV at its most deliciously boisterous and subversive.
It ultimately succeeded not because it was the first truly prominent gay drama on the air, but because it was a character-driven show that tackled a lot of ground in a very short time.
