Season 6 completes a new series of events, as Grace encounters some facts at a funeral she attends with Robert at some point. Now, Frankie seems to persuade Allison to give birth away from hospitals, and Grace and Frankie start a different path in front of Robert and Saul through a series of squabbles when there is new neighborhood insurance.
The series's sixth season is good preparation for its seventh and final one, setting up some new character arcs while being a fun ride in its own right.
If the writing feels familiar, the performances always feel witty and refined, like two masters easily pulling off material they could do in their sleep.
Complex TV relationships and characters tend to max out by age 50, which is why, despite the show's flaws, I could watch Grace and Frankie's existential journeys over and over again.
