Fifty years later, there seem to be more surprises that will be exciting. In that period, a tyrannical power of oppression threatens to overcome the world, which may make matters more complicated. In order to confront that authoritarian force, a bold team is being recruited to test a new form of armed neuroscience that is trying to control the situation. But above all, everyone must be prepared to sacrifice everything to save the world.
While the addition of impressive voice talent like Jordan, Fanning, Tennant, Williams, and Dillion is appealing, it doesn't do enough to enhance what is ultimately a flimsy story.
The show has a cast full of extremely likeable and interesting characters that already make it well worth watching. But it's still missing a larger story that's worth letting those characters tell.
If the first two episodes, packed with action, heart, and humor, heartbreaking twists and back-stabbing turns, don't grab you, then clearly ''gen:LOCK is not the show for you.
