In continuation of the previous season, Lieutenant Colombo delves into the world of magic, while there are mysterious things that cannot be revealed. One day, ESP tries to explore the merit while investigating the magician's death, and there appears to be a relationship with a miracle psychologist supported by a government institute established by mysterious paranormal. The mystery continues, as a selfish filmmaker uses his mastery of the special effects of killing a revenge friend.
Though somewhat repetitive, with scripts at times reworking characters and situations done before, and despite a dearth of big-name guest stars, [Peter] Falk's endearing characterization holds it all together.
We know whodunit and how, but the fun, as always, is watching Falk drive the villain nuts with no end of apparently stupid questions: "Uh, one more thing, sir."
