The third season begins with ASA who decided to put Freeland under martial law. Over time, Bill was forced to cooperate because of it. At that time, Jeff and Lynn remain in 'preventive custody,' and Anissa may be trying to have a new identity like 'Blackbird' to extract the metadata that exist in the city.
I hope this season maintains focus and doesn't find itself branching out too far away from its central conflicts. If the following episodes consistently operate at this level, this will be an exciting season to watch.
The one issue with the time jump was the sharp tonal shift. Don't get me wrong, the added tension and drama is well-appreciated to shake things up. However, the plot points between where the story left off and now are vastly different.
The first episode of the third season is just as politically charged as previous episodes, but this time around things feel more relevant, more attuned to this specific time and place
