In a dramatic atmosphere, the movie tells the tale of two sweethearts from New York from their begin in the university going through their marry and the introduction of their first kid. Amid this energizing journey, they presented to a progression of emotional occasions together and numerous difficulties in the entire life.
None of the characters in Life Itself are interesting on their own, so Fogelman attempts to gin them up some fake pathos through death, either theirs or someone near them.
...if your attitude is that life is meaningless and then you die, you may want to give this one a pass. Fogelman clearly believes life has meaning, even if we can't always see it for ourselves.
This is a film that understands that life is messy but doesn't understand how to express that in any way that even remotely resembles life as we know it.
Fogelman tries to tug on the heartstrings by giving us a story full of people who go through some harrowing, emotional ordeals, but it constantly rings hollow.
The worst thing about Life Itself is not that it is emotionally sadistic. It's just how much it wants to be emotionally sadistic, while missing the mark by a mile.
