The events of that drama series are listed in America, Oklahoma. The events begin with Vicki Ellis, the most famous female queen of the state. On the other hand, there is Samantha Stone, the girl who Vicky can make her a worthy rival to the title of Miss America. Vicki is the girl who can transform any girl into a winner, but when combined with her beautiful integrity, it may be a lot different when it comes to reputation and fame.
In the series, a black comedy (or is it a drama with occasional jokes?) about the desperate hangers-on in the beauty pageant scene, Zeta-Jones feels constrained by the show's sensibility and its sour lack of ambition.
In the grand scheme, Queen America pales in comparison to its forerunners. That doesn't mean it's a waste of time, though. And who knows, maybe it has a few surprises up its sleeve down the road.
Still, there's a watchable spark in Zeta-Jones and something admirable in the respect that Queen America shows to Samantha, who's played by Shouse with just the right mix of naïveté, charm, and self-awareness.
