In this sketch series, Arturo Castro offers a comprehensive mockery of all things around us. Arturo moves in life as the Latin Millennium in the United States where he makes fun of everything. Arturo moves from modern history to American culture to politics, criticizing everything that happens around him. Now, Arturo presents a new perspective through a different cynical experience in his life.
With his new Comedy's Central sketch show "Alternatino," Arturo Castro has the rare opportunity to tell his own story and skewer the inevitably cringe-inducing perceptions of it, and he seizes it with palpable gusto.
For me, this initially marks the rare Comedy Central sketch showcase that doesn't do justice to its central star, but perhaps if you tune in, it will be emboldened to take more - or, really, any - risks in a second season.
All around personable in his performance, Castro seems more comfortable in sketch-land than the plotlines. His comedic performance never disappoints, ranging from good to great.
