We live here in a series of wonderful comedy events offered by Abe, where Abe wanted to make an unlicensed watering hole in the backyard of her home. In this bar, Abe offers cheap drinks and laughs amid many people and friends. Now, the place seems to be distinguished by Abby's presence with no time but for fun. Everyone tries to book a seat in the bar, which can take time.
There's a lot of room for tinkering on Abby's and a lot of elements that could eventually turn the show into a winner. Based on the early returns, it's going to take some patience. Or maybe just a few beers.
It is a solidly constructed sitcom of the family-by-association sort that does the nation the incidental favor of keeping Natalie Morales and Neil Flynn in public view.
Early wobbliness aside, Abby's is not a show to dismiss. There is so much potential in its creators and cast... Hopefully Abby's will figure out soon how to make itself more at home.
Kind of like the titular bar itself, Abby's kind of sneaks up on you with its charm and relatively laid back attitude for a typically more frantic style of sitcom.
because there's promise in the group of characters that inhabit Abby's bar, and that Morales is a fine sitcom lead. But just realize it might take a while for Abby's to achieve its potential.
