In Punk's way, a group of good friends break the law by escaping. Teenagers try to escape to the forests where they are hiding and are their only refuge. During their presence, they face a failed guard. Young people will probably be in a state of permanent flight because they oppose power.
The Ranger is equal parts carnage, survival, and punk rock. It has all the appeal of an eighties slasher flick, but it also tells a more complex story.
The real star of the show is [director] Jenn Wexler. While the script she co-wrote with Giaco Furino has believability issues, the film's overall tone is ambitious.
It's pretty rough around the edges, part by design and part because this is Wexler's first movie, but it's a lot of fun and the kind of horror movie you want to put on at parties.
