Mary Katherine Gallagher takes a little getting used to for the unwitting viewer. She grows on you, though, and, despite yourself, you get to like her quirky ways.
Watching Molly Shannon make out with a tree is amusing, but not even someone of her comic endurance can drag out that joke for the entire doddering length of Superstar.
