Val is the fourth child of popular Filipino character actor Augusto Victa and Connie M. Miranda. He considers his father his greatest "acting influence" and mentor having trained him to compete in various provincial and region-wide Declamation & Oratorical contests. Val held the prestige of being the Provincial Champion throughout his elementary and high school years. His first "break" as an actor was a mainstay role in the filipino hit soap-opera "Annaliza" where he played the role of "Ronnie" a lone comic relief in the tear-jerking drama series for eight years That led him to become quite known throughout the country. He was Nominated as Best Supporting Actor in the 1995 Metro Manila Film Festival for his role in the movie; "Huwag mo'ng isuko ang laban!" where Val played "Mr. Cheng" a millionaire businessman whose daughter was by taken by a "kidnap-for-ransom" group. Val was first seen internationally in the 6-hour HBO production "A Dangerous Life" which featured the "fall of the Marcos Regime" and starred Gary Busey. He is an accomplished radio drama talent and was recently seen onstage in the Chancel Repertory play; "Snapshots and Portraits" where he played the lead role of "Jim" a lonely father trying to hold onto his family who have grown and moved out of the house, a rebelious son, and the memory of his wife who just died last year. In the Philippines, Val is more familiar as Atty. Fidel Dioquino. The second lead role of the soap series "Valiente" which lasted for six years as a top-rating multi-weekly TV show in the country from 1990 to 1996. Show less «
